A fine work depicting River Bend Park near our nation’s
capitol, this original is one of two dedicated to the beginning of winter.
The artist is enamored by the nude trees at the end of autumn and that
is plain to see in this work and in its partner, “Nearing of Winter
II”. This is a work incorporating a great deal of texture. The rocks
in the foreground are “rough” and it actually seems as if
the viewer is able to step onto these and into the painting. The trees
at middle ground are carefully rendered, as are their reflections, while
the background is softer, telling us that there is indeed a bit of distance
between the foreground and the other side of the river.
Although the frame for this work appears to be a bit rustic on your screen,
this is not the case. This is a sleek, silver, 4.5” contemporary
frame that contains highlights of red beneath silver leaf, a fine addition
to a fine painting. Click above image for an expanded view of framed art. |
